WHAT TO WEAR FOR BOUDOIR SHOOT

What to Wear to your Boudoir Session?!

Whether you have an upcoming boudoir photo session or just thinking about booking one soon, the first question we get asked is “What do I wear?”. The options may seem overwhelming but as professional Boudoir photographers with a boudoir photo studio in Columbus, Ohio we are here to help you every step of the way.  The goal is to find outfits that make you feel confident and sexy. How you feel in your boudoir wardrobe is just as important as how you look.

Before we jump in, here are a few general guidelines for any type of photoshoot wardrobe:

  • Solids are usually better than patterns. For example, If you’re considering a dress shirt for example, go with a solid blue, instead of checkered blue. Solids will also usually look more classic and timeless than a pattern. The goal is to highlight you and your body, and not distract from it, so choosing a more simple version of an outfit is usually a good choice.
  • Size matters. You might want to choose something super oversized, for a cute slouchy boyfriend look, so choose something only a size or two up for an oversized feel. If you want to showcase your body with smaller pieces, find something that fits you right and nothing too tight, thinking that you may look sexier. Don’t forget, it’s always better to go with something that actually fits you properly.

With all these said, here are some of our favorite ideas to inspire you in your search for what to wear for boudoir photos.

1- Lacy lingerie sets: This is a classic choice with different styles like bralettes, teddies, or two-piece sets with lace detailing. Want a more lifestyle and natural look? Then think about a nice bra and panty set that you have.  You can pair it with a shirt, sweater, or robe.

5. Oversized Shirt or a Sweater: There are so many different options for this one! This can be a men’s button-up shirt, or maybe a sports jersey. 6. Sheer Robe: You might wear a robe when primping and getting ready for a date night, or you might wear a robe to surprise your partner with a special reveal behind closed doors.  Sheer robes amp up the excitement…. What’s behind the robe is what’s most sexy.  The intensity of the unknown makes for some great story telling shots!
